My full name is Cao Quแปc Dลฉng, or you can call me by my nickname, Louis. This advanced portfolio will be the place where I’m gonna spend the most time on completing works & projects for this year’s Grade 12 Media Studies.
A bit more about me. I have love & passion for quite a lot of things. First thing, obviously, is passion for movie. It is one of the best, if not, the best form of media entertainment in my opinion. It’s the plot of the movie that always surprise me. You can never predict what will happen next. I’ve been watching Cobra Kai, a decent TV show on Netflix, and I would recommend it mainly for the plot.
Other than sitting at home watching movies, I also like to go outside and have a little bit of sunlight. As for outdoor activity, I really like to play basketball. I can always rely on it as a peace of mind, because I don’t think about anything else other than playing basketball. It is the ideal sport for me.
That is just a few to mention. As for Media Studies, I admire the creativity aspect of it. That’s it. Although it’s more of a love and hate connection, I still think that Media Studies has impacted some parts of my life.
My thoughts on my AS-Level Media results, it was mixed. Although I had anticipated that it would be hard to get a high results, getting a D was a bit disappointing. To be honest, I pretty much did 80-85% of my group's movie project, because my team members were drawing blanks when it comes to creativity. As for the exam, I thought that I did pretty well, but part B was not written sufficiently to actually get a high marks.
My goals for A-Level Media Studies are to reach a higher score and improve my blog. Having a D from AS-Level is gonna be a tough job in order to improve my overall AS/A Level Media results. However, I believe, with hard work and good communication with Mr. VZ, I can still turn this around. As a self-reflection, my blog for AS-Level was having a lack of feedback on the strength/weakness, and insufficient coursework done in time. I truly think that Mr. VZ will help me most in terms of quality and quantity of my blog this year.
As I previously said, I’ll be updating every single coursework and every preparations for this year’s media project, which is to make a music video, as it is very important for my A-Level results.
